Шурале

The legendary ballet by composer Farid Yarullin, based on the poem by Gabdulla Tukay, which itself draws from Tatar folklore. In this production, with choreography by Leonid Yakobson, the story unfolds of the bird-maiden Syuyumbike being abducted by the evil forest spirit Shurale and her rescue by the brave hunter Byltyr. A colourful and spectacular ballet about the triumph of light, love, and goodness over dark forces.
