Gabriel Fauré / Igor Stravinsky / Pyotr Tchaikovsky

Jewels

Драгоценности

George Balanchine’s Jewels is deemed the first full-length abstract ballet in history. Set to the music of Gabriel Fauré, Igor Stravinsky, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the three-act ballet is plot free and tremendously successful. The three acts, Emeralds, Rubies, and Diamonds, live up to their name through sophistication, elegance, and purity and demonstrate the successes of three famous ballet schools. Jewels is opulent and ephemeral, like a dream, the imaginative and inspiring concept is not meant to be kept in the treasure box.
